SZ honors 10 ‘most beautiful families’
    2022-09-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 10 “most beautiful families” of Shenzhen for 2022 were unveiled at an event jointly held by the Shenzhen Women’s Federation and the city’s spiritual civilization construction committee office Tuesday.

The event also witnessed the commendation of exemplary families, as well as institutions and companies that have cared for families. Some representatives gave keynote speeches on topics such as family and the country, devotion to work, friendliness and dedication, and integrity and domestic discipline, telling the behind-the-scene stories of the “most beautiful families.”

Zhang Hongmei’s family was one of the city’s 10 “most beautiful families” this year. Zhang’s husband Liu Pei is a doctor in the respiratory critical care medicine department of the Shenzhen People’s Hospital, while Zhang is a doctor in the emergency department.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Liu arrived in Wuhan as a member of Shenzhen’s first batch of medical teams to assist the fight against the virus in Hubei Province.

At work, the couple often come into contact with patients who need emergency and critical care. They not only treat the patients physically, but also console them psychologically, dedicated to their benevolent work as doctors.

Tao Jiefeng’s family also won the title of the city’s “most beautiful family.” Tao has been a maritime pilot for 14 years and has piloted ships for over 5,000 times without an accident due to negligence.

Tao’s wife Yin Hong is a junior high school teacher, and also a nonprofit organization volunteer that helps missing children reunite with their families. Yin has volunteered several times through the organization in the Pearl River Delta region.

Tao’s family has also been donating money to subsidize better education for needy children. They have guided a girl surnamed Wei from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in her studies and helped her go to college.

Three Shenzhen families were honored as exemplary families in the country for upholding good qualities such as respecting the elderly and caring for the young, equality between men and women, marital harmony, diligence and thrift in family management, as well as good relations with neighbors.

The three Shenzhen families are the families of Mo Yijuan, Ye Songsheng and Yao Yiyuan.
