SHENZHEN Bao’an International Airport will handle about 8,400 flights a week, connecting with 130 domestic destinations equal to pre-pandemic levels during the new flight season, which started yesterday and will run until March 25.

During the new season, the airport will open new flights and intensify flights on some routes, particularly business routes connecting Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing airport clusters.

A total of 28 airlines will operate passenger flights in Shenzhen and will add new routes with Linfen and E’zhou, as well as on routes with 37 cities including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenyang, Harbin, Hohhot, Wuhan and Tianjin. Flights will be further optimized between Shenzhen and Hangzhou, Chengdu and Nanjing.

In addition to flights to Beijing and Shanghai, flights traveling between Chengdu and Shenzhen will be running on high frequency with 68 flights a day. The number of flights running between Shenzhen and Nanjing will be kept at 58 a day and those with Hangzhou will be 46. The airport, following arrangements from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, will gradually resume its international routes. The number of international flights will be up by 30% a week in the new season.

In terms of cargo service, the airport will operate about 8,000 flights a week, which include flights to 14 international destinations, including New York, London and Sydney. The operators will also add more flights to the destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and Manila.
