THE 2022 Nanshan Half Marathon is scheduled to be held Dec. 4, and registrations for the event have started.
Incoming participants can register at the race’s official website at www.szns-marathon.com, the WeChat account “润赛” or the “数字心动” app.
The race’s route will form a T shape symbolizing technology and will start from the east gate of Shenzhen Talent Park and go southward along Shahe West and Wanghai roads. It will then turn northward at Shenzhen Bay Park’s Sunrise Opera House, passing Shahe West Road and Shennan Boulevard. The finish line will be at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, according to China Resources Property Co. Ltd., one of the organizers.
The half marathon is expected to receive 16,000 participants, including 12,700 individual runners and 3,000 runners from 100 running clubs. The remaining 300 slots in the quota will go to 10 charity running clubs. The organizers will inform the runners’ eligibility via text at 3 p.m. Nov. 8 after a lucky draw.
Runners who finished the 2019 China Resources Nanshan Half Marathon within 1 hour and 25 minutes in the men’s category and 1 hour and 50 minutes in the women’s category are eligible for this year’s half marathon without participating in the lucky draw. Those who attended the event for four straight years between 2016 and 2019 will also be exempted from the lucky draw.
People holding Shenzhen permanent resident permits, residence cards and social insurance payment certificates for at least six months, or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan resident cards, can apply for the race. For interested foreigners, they are required to hold passports, valid visas and residence certificates for at least six months.
Due to COVID-19 prevention and control measures, runners must not leave the city within seven days prior to the date they get their bibs. Applicants must show a negative 24-hour nucleic acid test report to collect their bibs. On the day of the race, runners must have taken nucleic acid tests for 10 straight days, have a green health code and have completed three COVID-19 vaccine shots. They are also required to take a nucleic acid test within 48 hours after the race. |
