A DELEGATION of 29 people from 18 Shenzhen enterprises left for Indonesia yesterday to participate in the OCTF 2022 (Jakarta) Intelligent Technology Exhibition that is scheduled to be held from tomorrow until Sunday.

The group is one of the three delegations that are venturing out in search of business opportunities overseas in November despite headwinds from the COVID-19 pandemic and challenges threatening the recovery of the global economy, a sign that Shenzhen foreign trade businesses are eager to get a head start in grabbing orders amid the global economic recovery.

One delegation consisting of 43 people from 22 enterprises will leave for Germany tomorrow to participate in the MEDICA 2022 in Dusseldorf, Germany, while 15 enterprises will also take part in the Cosmoprof Asia in Singapore on Nov. 14.

Several chartered flights have been arranged for local companies to attend overseas exhibitions in November and December, with destinations including traditional and emerging markets, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau, which has helped organize the trips.

“Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and our company hopes to gain more customers through the event. We have also invited local Indonesian and Malaysian partners to participate in in-depth discussions on cooperation this time,” said Gao Kaiguo, CEO of Shenzhen Yisimu Technology Co. Ltd.

Yisimu Technology provides cellular data connection services for IoT products and aims to help Chinese IoT enterprises go global quickly and easily, according to Gao.

“The exhibition provides a good opportunity for enterprises to go global,” said Ma Chunyan, who is in charge of market planning at Space-ZC (Shenzhen) Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise established in Shenzhen in 2001.

He said Chinese companies’ strengths can be displayed in this kind of international exhibition, which is conducive to enhancing the influence of national brands overseas and helping Chinese enterprises to broaden overseas markets.

The city government will subsidize local enterprises 30% of charter fees incurred by participating in business charter flights organized by Guangdong Province in addition to a provincial subsidy, according to a guideline issued by the municipal commerce bureau Oct. 31.

It will subsidize 80% of the round-trip air ticket expenses incurred by participating in business charter flights organized by the city.
