Concerts

Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will play a night of scores from popular Western movies, such as “Star Wars,” “Frozen” “Titanic” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” on Friday night (50-880 yuan). Polish pianist Katarzyna Borek will play a selection of works by Chopin along with a few Chinese folk tunes Saturday night (98-298 yuan). Also on Saturday night, Chinese guzheng (plucked zither) player Chang Jing and her ensemble will present traditional Chinese folk music integrated with modern instruments at a show (80-480 yuan).

‘Day & Night’

“Day & Night,” the musical version of a hit Chinese TV series of the same name, will be staged this weekend. With pop musician Hu Yanbin as artistic director, the musical centers on a former policeman who returns as a consultant in order to discover the culprits behind the framing of his twin brother.
