Xi arrives in Bangkok for APEC meeting
    2022-11-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

PRESIDENT Xi Jinping arrived in Bangkok on Thursday to attend the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting and pay a visit to Thailand.

This year’s APEC meeting will be held Friday and Saturday under the theme of “Open, Connect, Balance.”

Xi left Bali for the Thai capital after attending the 17th Group of 20 Summit on this Indonesian resort island.

Xi said Thursday that “we should follow a path of peaceful development,” “a path of openness and inclusiveness” and “a path of solidarity.”

The Asia Pacific, once a ground of big power rivalry and a place fraught with international disputes, suffered so much from conflicts and wars, Xi noted in a written speech at the APEC CEO Summit.

Noting openness and inclusiveness are vital for human prosperity and advancement, Xi said the Asia-Pacific miracle has been created by all of us working hand in hand and overcoming difficulties and obstacles.                                      (Xinhua)
