Temperature drop

AFFECTED by southeast airflows and a cold front from the north, Shenzhen will experience a round of rains and temperature drop until Friday, according to information released by the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

From today to tomorrow, there will be frequent rains and the temperatures will stand at between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius, according to the weather forecast, with maximum gale power reaching levels 6 to 7 in coastal areas. Citizens are advised to dress warmly to avoid catching colds.

Man saved

FIREFIGHTERS saved a man trapped on a reef at a beach near Xichong in Dapeng New Area on Saturday night, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

The man was fishing at the unexplored beach area under a highway bridge while the tide was rising. With no lighting around, the man was unable to find his way up the bridge and was trapped at the beach.

Firefighters received a call for help from the man and used ropes to climb down the bridge to rescue him. Firefighters reminded citizens to be on alert when fishing in unexplored sites.
