Guangming unveils foreign service workstation
    2022-11-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

GUANGMING District unveiled an employment and residence service workstation for foreigners Monday to make it easier for expats to work and live in the district.

The inauguration of the Employment and Residence Services Center for Foreigners Guangming Workstation also marked the city’s first district-level employment and residence service workstation, as well as the district’s first foreigner work permit workstation that has been put into use, according to a report from Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.

Expats can now apply for their work permit and work-based residence permit at the same time. They only need to submit their application online and go to a service window to collect the permits. The whole review time for an application has been shortened to seven days.

In recent years, an increasing number of expats have chosen to work or start businesses at Guangming Science City. In order to improve its attractiveness to talents, Guangming District launched a series of activities this month to showcase its innovation and entrepreneurial environment.

After the inauguration ceremony, academicians from the U.S., Germany, Italy, the U.K., France and Cuba also gathered to share their visions on topics such as innovation breakthrough and high-quality openness, the report said.  (Wang Jingli)
