Shangchuan Huang Liansheng Awakening Lion Dance Team from Shenzhen competes in the first-round contest during the 9th MGM Lion Dance Championship — Southern Lion Dance Invitational 2022, which kicked off at MGM Theater in Macao yesterday. The team based in Xin’an Subdistrict, Bao’an District, was founded by Huang Liansheng, a local martial arts master, in the 1930s. Its awakening lion dance was listed as a national intangible heritage last year.
