THE 2022 Nanshan Half Marathon was rescheduled to be held Dec. 18, according to the announcement from one of the organizers, China Resources, on Tuesday evening.

The race’s route will form a T shape symbolizing technology and will start from the east gate of Shenzhen Talent Park and go southward along Shahe West and Wanghai roads. It will then turn northward at Shenzhen Bay Park’s Sunrise Opera House, passing Shahe West Road and Shennan Boulevard. The finish line will be at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, according to the organizer.

Runners who have registered can apply to quit before 6 p.m. tomorrow due to the delay, which was originally planned to be held Dec. 4. Individual runners who choose not to participate this year will have their spots reserved for the event in 2023. However, group runners who cancel won’t have their spots reserved for the 2023 event.

The half marathon is estimated to have 16,000 participants, including 12,700 individual runners and 3,000 runners from 100 running clubs. The remaining 300 slots in the quota are allotted to 10 charity running clubs.

The organizer reminded runners to take personal precaution and it will update its COVID-19 prevention and control requirements according to the latest situation. Participants can collect their bibs between Dec. 15 and 17 at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in Nanshan District.

In another development, the website doyouhike.net, operated by Shenzhen Zaitu Science and Technology Co. Ltd., announced on its official WeChat account Monday that it will organize the 22nd Shenzhen 100KM hiking event in Guangming on Saturday and Sunday. In the last two years, hikers fondly called the event Guangming 100-kilometer hiking since it started and ended at Guangming sports center. The number of participants is limited to 900 people this year, and the organizer only accepts group hikers.
