Meta, architecture, animals

“Not About Money: Landing Meta” (98 yuan), running through March 5, 2023, showcases 33 installations and multimedia works created by 29 international artists, reviewing blockchain technology.

“Beyond Borders: Architectures of Japan” (98 yuan), running through Feb. 19, 2023, displays architecture models, photos, drafts and videos of renowned Japanese architects, such as Tadao Ando, Kengo Kuma and Fumihiko Maki.

“An Animal I Am!” (128 yuan), running through March 26, 2023, showcases Gabriel Rico’s works characterized by the interrelation of seemingly disparate objects. Rico pairs collected and manufactured materials to create sculptures that invite viewers to reflect on the relationship between humans and our nature.

‘Flow: Graphics in Motion’

“Flow: Graphics in Motion,” a free exhibition running until Jan. 5, 2023, presents more than 100 motion graphic design works by 25 top designers and studios from 10 countries.

Venue: C2 Space, North Area, OCT-LOFT, Nanshan District (华侨城创意文化园北区C2展厅)

Supernatural figures in art

A new exhibition with illustrations and sculptures created by young Chinese artists and inspired by “The Classic of Mountains and Seas” and “Night Parade of Dead Souls,” as well as Japanese masters’ ukiyo-e paintings, will give visitors a clear and terrifying image of what such supernatural figures might look like. The exhibition (88 yuan) runs through Feb. 5, 2023.

‘Future Returns’

Artworks by 44 masters including Zao Wou-ki, Salvador Dali, Juan Miro, Andy Warhol and Rene Magritte are on display at the “Future Returns” exhibition, which is divided in five sections: “Surrealism,” “Abstract Expressionism,” “Pop Art,” “Conceptual Art” and “New Painting and Art From 1988 Onwards.” The exhibition (98 yuan) runs until Dec. 31.
