THE Chinese Red Cross Foundation received over 1.11 billion yuan (US$161 million) in 2022, according to the foundation last week.

The foundation spent 1.19 billion yuan on charity last year, according to statistics released at a council meeting of the foundation.

To date, the foundation has given out donations worth over 10 billion yuan, it said.

The document noted that last year, the foundation made new breakthroughs in humanitarian relief, including aiding over 11,000 children with leukemia or congenital heart diseases, training about 45,000 rural and grassroots doctors and pediatricians, and giving assistance to 298 families of organ donors.
