City sees vitality in all walks of life
    2023-01-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

STEPPING into the New Year, the city has seen vitality in all walks of life. Employees of high-tech enterprises, research institutions and checkpoints worked energetically on the first working day after the New Year holiday, which fell on Dec. 31 to Jan. 2, Shenzhen TV (SZTV) reported.

At the laboratory of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Electronic Materials, Yang Lei, a test engineer, was doing an experiment and verifying data. He told SZTV on Tuesday that many of their projects have gone smoothly and are expected to achieve great results in the near future.

The institute is known as a base for the national integrated circuit (IC) innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It has achieved advanced breakthroughs in many fields, and their researchers said that they will continue improving their core technology capabilities and support the city’s innovation and development in the electrical materials industry.

Other enterprises are also striving to make rapid progress in achieving industrialization in technology.

At the Longwangmiao Industrial Park in Bao’an District, majority of the employees were on duty at their workstations. Some of them worked on the commercialization of their technological achievements, while some positively contacted potential customers around the country, hoping to garner favorable performance reviews at the beginning of 2023.

Li Shuo, a research and development engineer from Samcien Semiconductor Materials Co. Ltd. told SZTV that the company is operating well, and they have an abundant number of orders.

Employees from a design company in the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, were occupied working. The company’s operation team is composed of members from Hong Kong, and they are continuing their metaverse layout work, trying to seek cooperation with more brilliant intellectual properties (IP).

The hub is home to 303 enterprises, 197 of which are ran by Hong Kong people.

On Tuesday, the first working day after the New Year holiday, the service industry has also been operating vigorously. During the food delivery peak hours at noon, Chen Hangping, a deliveryman, was busy going from one building to another to deliver food. He said that one notable change this year is that he can directly hand over the food to customers instead of leaving it on shelves. This year, he hopes to earn more through hard work so he can afford to pay for renovation for his old house in his hometown.
