72 industrial space projects lure investors
    2023-01-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN is building high-quality, economical and customized industrial spaces to attract the world’s advanced manufacturing industry leaders, listed companies and innovation-driven enterprises to invest in the city, ramping up efforts to become the world’s leading  advanced manufacturing center.

The city currently has 72 industrial space projects, which will cover a combined land area of 8.548 million square meters and offer 23.065 million square meters of industrial spaces, according to an industrial space project investment promotion meeting held Tuesday.

Compared with traditional single-floor factory buildings, these projects will feature factory premises in customized high-rises with low rental cost.

Fifty of the 72 projects are in the city’s 20 advanced manufacturing industrial parks, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

In November last year, Shenzhen launched an industrial space plan, specifying that 20 million square meters of high-quality, cost-effective and customized industrial space will be built every year for five consecutive years, with monthly rent costing 35 yuan (US$5.17) per square meter on average.

Since its launch, the plan has received a lot of attention from enterprises, and in over a month, over 300 companies have proposed their needs for more than 5 million square meters of industrial space.

At present, the city is beefing up efforts in land preparation to ensure that all 72 projects will have started by June this year.

For instance, Longgang District has industrial space measuring 5.784 million square meters under construction and 415,000 square meters already built.

The Guangming investment promotion sci-tech park, with an operating area of 510,000 square meters, focuses on new-generation information technology, new materials, new energy and biopharmaceutical industries.

It will build low-cost and high-quality industrial spaces customized for the actual production needs of enterprises that will settle in the sci-tech park.

The industrial space project in Longhua District’s Guanlan area will introduce advanced manufacturing enterprises engaged in precision instruments and intelligent terminals.

Pingshan District’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industrial park features prefabricated high-rise buildings, and it will build an NEV technology innovation center integrating R&D and production.
