Workers prefabricate the last immersed tube for Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor sea channel at a smart factory in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, yesterday. Spanning 24 kilometers, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan link is a complex bridge, island, and tunnel project modeled after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Upon completion in 2024, it will be an important passage between eastern and western cities of the Pearl River Delta, which have developed unevenly in recent decades. The driving time from Shenzhen to Zhongshan will be reduced from the current two hours to about 20 minutes. Xinhua
