Contemporary art

Jiang Zhi’s solo exhibition “The Man Who Carves the Boat” provides a rare viewing experience: Visitors have to peep into small holes in a dark room to see the artist’s photographic works and videos. Meanwhile, 14 artists, designers, musicians, writers and architects are presenting new insights on their hometowns at the “Hometown Spring” exhibition. Some of “Shen Shaomin’s Brief History of Science” exhibits are still on display. All the exhibitions are free to visit and the ending dates haven’t yet been announced.

‘The Prehistoric Players’

Children should not miss the “The Prehistoric Players” exhibition displaying prehistoric animal models. Children will not only get to know their habits but also play sports and games at the free exhibition which runs through April 30.

Immersive exhibition

An exhibition running until Feb. 26 crosses boundaries between art and science. It includes “Mutation” and “Ukiyo-e Visions,” created by Danny Rose Studio. Using projection mapping technology and dynamic sound spatialization, “Mutation” offers an immersive synesthetic experience for visitors. “Ukiyo-e Visions” is inspired by the ukiyo-e art.

Meta, architecture, animals

“Not About Money: Landing Meta,” running through March 5, showcases installations and multimedia works created by international artists, reviewing blockchain technology. “Beyond Borders: Architectures of Japan,” running through Feb. 19, displays architecture models, photos, drafts and videos of renowned Japanese architects, such as Tadao Ando, Kengo Kuma and Fumihiko Maki.

“An Animal I Am!” running through March 26 showcases Gabriel Rico’s works characterized by the interrelation of seemingly disparate objects. People can also have opportunities to meet new rabbit installations entitled “Party Rabbits” by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman at an exhibition running until May 4.

‘The Siløs Metaverse’

More than 60 artists are presenting digital artworks to create a futuristic world at “The Siløs Metaverse” exhibition running until March 31.
