SZ takes up 30% of tech contracts in Guangdong
    2023-03-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOTAL of 14,685 technology contracts were registered in Shenzhen in 2022, accounting for about 30% of the provincial aggregate, data released by the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Torch High Technology Industry Development Center showed Monday.

The center Monday released the transaction data of national technological contracts in 2022 . As of Dec. 31, 2022, a total of 772,507 technology contracts had been registered nationwide, with a transaction value of 4.78 trillion yuan (US$691.53 billion), an increase of 15.2% and 28.2%, respectively, over the previous year.

A technology contract is a legal document usually signed by a company and a technology service provider to outline the rights and responsibilities of both parties as they enter into a business relationship in technology development, transfer, licensing, consultation or related services.

Data showed that Shenzhen had 14,685 technology contracts registered last year, with the turnover totaling 157.56 billion yuan.

In terms of technology flow, Shenzhen exported 14,033 technologies, generating a turnover of 123.68 billion yuan, while the number of imported technologies reached 34,054, leading to a contract turnover of 205.33 billion yuan.

In addition, statistics showed that the city’s  number of registered technology contracts ranked first among cities that were taken into account when making the data report.

Some key areas had led the province in market transactions, with the top three areas of electronic information, aerospace, new energy and energy-efficiency accounting for more than 95%, with electronic information accounting for over 88%, according to the data.
