Turtle tracks

RESEARCHERS have discovered a possible turtle swim track from the Third Member of the Late Triassic Xujiahe Formation in Pengzhou City of Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.

The discovery adds to the Late Triassic fauna in Pengzhou and suggests that there may be more vertebrate fossil records to uncover.

HEALTH experts called for strengthening vaccination for human papillomavirus among teenage girls and ramping up production of HPV vaccines as China joined the global initiative to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer.

Zhao Fanghui, a professor at the National Cancer Center, said at a recent seminar that China registered about 109,000 new cervical cancer cases and 59,000 related deaths in 2020, and each number accounted for about one-fifth of the world’s total.
