TWO enterprises in Bao’an District donated materials and cash worth 610,000 yuan (US$88,500) in total at a donation ceremony last week to mark the completion of a school project at Zaolin Township Central Primary School in Bazhou District in the city of Bazhong, Sichuan Province.

The donations by Cape Mountain Winery (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. and Shenzhen Bentuo Electronic Technology Co. Ltd. included 10 sets of multimedia electronic white boards, an LED conference panel, 700 books and 320,000 yuan in cash.

“The donations will be used to help improve the teaching and learning facilities at the primary school,” Wang Yunjiang, chairman of Cape Mountain Winery (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., told Shenzhen Daily yesterday.

At the ceremony last week, Wang and Hu Yuansheng, deputy director of Bazhou District People’s Congress, and other guests unveiled the plaque of Cape Mountain School of Hope.

Zhang Honghua, head of the Bao’an Charity Federation, Ye Wei, chairman of Bentuo, and Ding Li, co-founder of Cape Mountain Winery, gave speeches at the donation ceremony.

In her speech, Ding encouraged students to cherish their time, study hard and learn to take responsibility to help others by citing her early schooling years.

The Zaolin Township Central Primary School presented thank-you plaques to the two enterprises from Bao’an District to express gratitude for their donations and support.

Over 40 entrepreneurs from Shenzhen, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu participated in the donation ceremony marking the completion of the school project.

The primary school, established in 1951, now has over 500 students. In 2017, Bazhou District invested 15 million yuan to expand the school and built different multifunctional rooms spanning 7,000 square meters for its students.
