Banking complaints

THE number of consumer complaints received by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and its local bureaus stood at 69,555 in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The number of cases involving credit card service reached 29,981 in the period, accounting for 43.1% of the total, while registered cases involving personal loan businesses hit 28,545, the commission said Tuesday. The commission and its local bureaus during the period received 22,189 consumer complaints against China’s insurance companies, while cases related to life insurers totaled 14,500.

Renewable capacity

CHINA’S installed renewable energy capacity saw robust growth in the first two months of the year, data from the National Energy Administration showed Tuesday.

By the end of February, the installed capacity of wind power rose 11% year on year to 370 million kilowatts, while that of solar power stood at 410 million kilowatts, up 30.8%. China’s total installed power generation capacity came in at about 2.6 billion kilowatts by the end of February, rising 8.5% year on year.
