THE Yuhuan-Shenzhen Investment Promotion and Talent Introduction Conference in Shenzhen on Thursday saw the on-site signing of 22 investment projects totaling 10.8 billion yuan (US$1.58 billion).

The conference aimed to showcase the development prospects and business opportunities of Yuhuan in Zhejiang Province, as the coastal city looks to collaborate with high-quality urban development partners.

The projects span various industries, including equipment manufacturing, new energy equipment production, tourism development, medical devices, modern agriculture and health care, which are expected to inject new vitality into the city’s high-quality growth.

Since the beginning of this year, Yuhuan has planned and signed 65 investment projects totaling 38 billion yuan.

Yuhuan and Shenzhen share cultural traits of a migrant city, the inclusiveness of an open city and the vitality of a young city, Yuhuan Party chief Zhou Yang said in a speech.

The goal of the conference was to learn from Shenzhen’s innovative approach and cutting-edge experience, in the hopes of inviting all guests to seek win-win cooperation, Zhou said.

Chen Bin, executive vice mayor of Yuhuan, gave an overview of the city’s sound business environment, competitive industries and promising investment projects.

Li Weiguo, deputy director of the organization department of the Yuhuan Municipal Committee of the CPC and director of the talent work office, Zhao Xiaohua, director of the city’s housing and construction bureau, and Ni Huizhen, director the city’s tourism development center, provided detailed information on Yuhuan’s talent policy, urban renewal projects and tourism projects, respectively.

Located on the southeast coast of Zhejiang, Yuhuan is a significant manufacturing hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, with competitive industries such as the auto parts industry, water heating valve industry and machine tool industry.

For years, the city has ranked in the top 30 out of the top 100 counties and cities with comprehensive strength in China.
