Passengers have their palm prints registered on ticket machines at a station on Daxing Airport Express in Beijing yesterday. A palm-recognition payment system was put into operation on the express May 21, which allows metro passengers traveling between downtown Beijing and Daxing International Airport to pay for rides by scanning their palms at station turnstiles. This is the first subway line that supports palm print recognition in the world. To enroll, passengers need to register their palm prints on designated machines at metro stations and complete the authorization process on WeChat. The palm scanning payment system will be soon put into trial use at Shenzhen University, according to Tencent. China News Service |
