Han Ximin 1824295095@qq.com A SINO-EUROPE train loaded with 110 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) departed from Pinghu National Logistics Hub in Shenzhen and headed to Volcino in Russia via Khorgos checkpoint in Xinjiang on May 24. This was the 78th train that had been operated from Shenzhen under the Sino-Europe program. “The freight fare of the Sino-Europe train is in par with that of the sea-rail service, and the train will save about 30 days compared with the sea-rail combined service. It is faster and safer,” said Hu Bo, market manager of Shenzhen Jiayuda e-commerce Technology Co. Ltd., a freight forwarding company in Longgang District. Data from Shenzhen Customs showed 65 trains in total operated between January and April, carrying 46,500 cubic tons of cargo, up by 149% year on year, with total value reaching 1.25 billion yuan (US$176.25 million). |
