Australia’s Indigenous art to be on display
    2023-06-02  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AUSTRALIA’S Indigenous artworks, also known as Australian Aboriginal art, will be on display during the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) that will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District from June 7 to 11.

The Australia booth, located at the Belt and Road International Pavilion in Hall 13, is jointly organized by the Australia China International Center (ACIC) and two other incubators based in Shenzhen and Brisbane, respectively, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Wednesday.

Ayling Katie from Solid Lines, an illustration agency in Australia, said that the Australian side values Shenzhen’s strength in cultural IP operation and its original creation resources and hopes that ICIF will help Indigenous Australian artists cooperate with Shenzhen-based firms to expand the international arts and culture market between China and Australia.

The organizers aim to bring in Australian cultural elements and promote its Chinese counterparts overseas through various events such as academic exchanges, art trading, public participation, science popularization and education.

In addition to Indigenous art, the booth will also feature trendy cultural products from Australia. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in painting activities at the booth, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of Australian culture.
