ICIF sets up hall featuring GBA cultural products
    2023-06-02  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN exhibition hall showcasing cultural achievements from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and other cities in Guangdong Province will welcome visitors starting Wednesday as part of the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF).

The exhibition hall, covering 20,000 square meters, will see booths from Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen and other Guangdong cities presenting their cultural achievements in digital culture, innovative designs and cultural tourism.

Hong Kong joined ICIF in 2008 and since then, Hong Kong exhibitors have brought their innovative designs to the fair. Last year, Hong Kong exhibitors presented the city’s strengths in the design and innovation industry. “Previously, we presented a diverse range of works from Hong Kong designers and brands. This year, we will showcase our achievements in innovative education,” a staffer from the Hong Kong exhibition team said.

A total of 10 cultural and creative product brands from Macao will be showcased at ICIF. The brands will present various products including those inspired by Macao’s renowned intellectual property (IP) and incorporating elements of Macao’s cultural heritage. During the fair, an event promoting Macao’s cultural and creative brands will also be held at the hall.

Zhuhai will highlight its cultural industries by utilizing sound, light, electricity, digital and internet technologies. Yangjiang will bring its food specialties and feature other products rooted in its unique intangible cultural heritage, such as lacquer paintings and lacquerware.

According to a staffer from the Guangzhou delegation, the city has organized 20 exhibitors, covering the fields of animation, online music, games, intangible cultural heritage and museums, to participate in the fair. “Our display desk was designed in the shape of a windmill and features a screen displaying a running water visual effect. We hope that the design will ‘bless’ the flourishing cultural industries,” the staffer said.
