Notice for ICIF Expats Short Video Contest

THE 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an from June 7 to 11. The event, which will gather 3,596 Chinese exhibitors and more than 300 others from over 50 countries and regions, will present a cultural feast to visitors onsite and online.

To present the cultural feast to overseas audiences via social media platforms, Shenzhen Daily will organize the 2023 ICIF Expats Short Video Contest. Winning expatriates will receive awards based on the number of likes their short videos receive on overseas social media accounts.

1. Eligibility

All foreign nationals are eligible to enter the contest.

2. Contents and formats

Short videos shot at ICIF’s main venue and subvenues that are conducive to the overseas promotion of ICIF can enter the contest, such as those showing interesting exhibits, exhibitors and activities. All posts containing contest videos should carry the hashtags #ICIF2023, #shenzhen and #cultureshenzhen.

Your video can be filmed with professional cameras or mobile phones and should last for 1 to 3 minutes. AVI, MOV, FIV, MP4 are acceptable formats. Horizontal and vertical screen formats are acceptable.

3. Social media platforms

All short videos must be posted on one or more of the following platforms: TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The numbers of likes for the same video posted on different platforms can be added up and the total numbers will determine the winners.

4. Video posting period

All entries must be posted on the aforesaid platforms between June 7 and 12, carrying the required hashtags.

The number of likes your video post accumulates as of 12:01 a.m. June 15 Beijing Time will determine if you win a prize.

5. How to submit entries

Please submit the links to the videos that have been posted on the aforesaid platforms to szdaily@126.com before 11:59 p.m. June 14.

6. Awards

One first-prize winner: 3,000 yuan

Three second-prize winners:1,500 yuan each

Five third-prize winners: 1,000 yuan each

Entry prize: 500 yuan each (All qualified video entries have the opportunity to be granted an entry prize)

Note: Each individual can submit multiple entries but the number of awards is capped at two for each contestant.

7. Free ICIF tickets

Shenzhen Daily will provide free tickets to ICIF’s main venue at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. Contestants can send a request for an electronic ticket to szdaily@126.com. Please provide your WeChat ID and phone number in the email request for the convenience of communication, together with full name, nationality and passport number.

8. Work Display

The winning entries will be posted on EYESHENZHEN, the official English portal of Shenzhen, as well as on the official WeChat account of Shenzhen Daily and its official YouTube, Twitter, Facebook accounts.
