Han Ximin 1824295095@qq.com THE 2023 Intelligent Connected Vehicles Commercialization and Innovation Forum will be held Friday at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District. The forum, which is a sideline event of the 2023 Future Vehicle Pioneers Conference organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau, will gather renowned experts and executives from the intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) industry from home and abroad to explore ways for the commercialization of ICVs, application of cutting-edge ICV technologies and industry development trends. ICVs, commonly known as driverless vehicles, have entered a new phase of development and have emerged as a growing industry due to advancements in telecommunications, automation, the internet, automobile manufacturing, satellite navigation and intelligent technologies. Shenzhen, known as an innovation hub, boasts over 1,200 ICV-related enterprises, the highest number in the country, data from Shenzhen transport bureau showed. A total of 300 ICVs had been deployed for testing on city roads by the end of 2022, as part of the city government’s efforts to support the high-quality development of ICVs. The industry was included in the city government’s list of 20 emerging and strategic industrial clusters for key development in June last year. According to the city’s plan for developing the driverless vehicle industrial cluster (2022-2025), the industry’s revenue is expected to reach 200 billion yuan (US$27.97 billion) by 2025. Shenzhen will be the first city in China to allow ICVs in all its administrative areas by the end of 2023. The number of driverless vehicles on the road is projected to exceed 1,000 by the end of 2025, solidifying Shenzhen’s position as a model city for high-quality ICV development and a leading hub for ICV industrial clusters in China, as outlined in the city’s plan. |
