Human rights forum

THE Forum on Global Human Rights Governance will kick off in Beijing today and it is expected to attract over 300 participants from nearly 100 countries and international organizations including United Nations agencies.

The two-day forum is themed “Equality, Cooperation and Development: The 30th Anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Program of Action and Global Human Rights Governance.”

The forum is jointly hosted by the Information Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

Musical instrument set

RESEARCHERS in East China’s Zhejiang Province have recently discovered a porcelain musical instrument set at the ruins of the Yue Kingdom, dating back to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770 B.C.-256 B.C.), in Yuecheng District of Shaoxing City.

The collection, comprising three cylinder-like percussion instruments and six others resembling ancient chime bells, is the first of its kind to be unearthed in archaeological sites associated with the Yue culture.

Vocational education

CHINA has released guidelines on promoting the integration of industry and education in the vocational education sector, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

The country will build and cultivate more than 10,000 enterprises focused on the integration of industry and education. It will also ensure that industrial needs are better integrated into the process of personnel training, said the guidelines jointly released by the NDRC and seven other departments yesterday.

By 2025, there will be about 50 national pilot cities focused on the integration of industry and education, according to the document.
