‘Romeo et Juliette’

“Romeo et Juliette,” a highly acclaimed French musical based on the classic Shakespearean tragedy, will be staged. This timeless love story told with an inventive approach combines pop, rock and electronic music to create an enchanting experience. With music and lyrics by Gérard Presgurvic, the musical also features stunning choreography which will leave you spellbound.

‘Winterreise’

Central Conservatory of Music vocal professor Peng Kangliang will sing Schubert’s “Winterreise” in Chinese on Saturday. Schubert’s music perfectly captures that torrent of emotion with his exquisite control of the harmonies and melodic flow.

Chamber, erhu, piano

Clarinet, percussion and piano musicians from the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with other local musicians to present a chamber music concert featuring works by Schubert, Mozart, Piazzolla and others Friday. Chinese erhu player Wang Xiao will play a night of Chinese folk tunes Saturday. Young pianist Hu Ching-yun will play Rachmaninoff’s pieces Sunday.
