Charm in old drama
    2023-06-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Four-year-old Kong Jihan performs Kunqu opera at a concert at Sky Museum in Futian District on Saturday. Kunqu opera, originating from Kunshan in Suzhou City, East China’s Jiangsu Province, is one of the oldest dramas in China with a long history of over 600 years and known as “the ancestor of hundreds of Chinese operas.” It was listed by the UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage in 2001. Ten families with visually impaired children were invited to the concert to develop an appreciation for the opera.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Liu Xudong
