MANY citizens and tourists have had a good time getting close to nature and spending some quality time at Shenzhen parks during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which ended Saturday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
At Shenzhen Bay Park, an outdoor cultural festival has brought intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, novel cultural and creative products, food and exquisite items for residents and tourists during the holiday.
The festival offered various kinds of delicious food, handicrafts, live performances, interactive activities, and outdoor movie screenings. Some people even played frisbee over the holiday.
Shenzhen, a city with over 1,000 parks, certainly has more to offer. For instance, citizens and tourists were able to enjoy lotus flowers at Honghu Park, work out at Central Park, and feel the summer vibes at Honghuashan Park during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
The Zero Carbon Park, located near the Shenzhen International Low Carbon City in Pingdi Subdistrict, Longgang District, became a large “fun land” for children during the holiday.
The park is filled with low-carbon elements, among which the “Barefoot Paradise” ingeniously utilizes litchi forests and under-the-forest waterways to create a children’s activity area.
It uses natural materials such as sand and logs to set up recreational facilities, encourages children and parents to kick off their shoes, and explore the ecological pavement made of bark, pinecones, volcanic rocks, pebbles and mud.
