Immersive digital exhibitions offer unique experiences

WHILE nothing can truly replicate the feeling of seeing real relics and artworks, immersive digital exhibitions utilizing advanced technology to bring artifacts to life can also engage the senses and enhance the appreciation of history and culture. Now several immersive digital exhibitions in Shenzhen incorporating high-resolution images and videos, interactive displays and informative audiovisual content give visitors a chance to virtually explore intricate details of artifacts, immerse themselves in history and interact with stunning works of art.

‘Sanxingdui Unveiled’

The “Sanxingdui Unveiled” exhibition invites visitors to have a close look at Sanxingdui’s relics presented in ultra-HD images and videos taken in 12K macro photography. At the exhibition, visitors can closely experience the enchanting charm of the gold mask, a pottery pig, and a bronze chicken, to name a few, learn about the archaeological excavations of Sanxingdui, and view contemporary artworks from home and abroad.

The exhibition aims to provide visitors with a multidimensional cultural experience and provide an understanding of the ancient Shu civilization amid the diverse and inclusive Chinese civilizations.

‘Dunhuang Light and Shadow Art’

The “Dunhuang Light and Shadow Art” exhibition utilizes digital art techniques to present Dunhuang frescoes, dances, musical instruments, statues and history in a new and enchanting way, creating a magnificent and dreamlike Dunhuang world.

Entering the exhibition, visitors will get to know the arduous journey between the East and the West in ancient times, as they see a Chinese ink painting-style digital scroll displaying the Silk Road.

On the ceiling of the exhibition hall, images of 24 types of ancient musical instruments are projected, and the walls then come alive with images of 24 apsaras flying towards the instruments and gracefully playing the instruments.

Visitors can also see glowing pages of scriptures in the recreated Dunhuang Library Cave exhibition hall, interact with the Nine-colored Deer and immerse themselves in this fascinating experience.

‘Cézanne: The Four Seasons’

The digital exhibitions of French post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839-1906) are being held at Coastal City and the Pingshan Exhibition Gallery. On display are digital projections of Cézanne’s masterpieces portraying his beloved landscapes of Provence, his melancholic portraits and still life paintings. With the artworks swirling around you, you will feel like you are inside the artistic mind of one of the greatest modern painters of all time.

The exhibitions reveal the power of Cézanne’s compositions, his approach to light and color and his link with nature, which was his greatest source of inspiration. The visitors will be immersed in the vast canopy of the trees, forests, parks and gardens at the exhibition.

‘Renaissance Art Visions’

Make the most of the final days and experience the immersive digital exhibition of works by 39 masters such as Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rafael and Botticelli. Delve into the magnificent 300-year history of art, architecture, science and philosophy. The digital images featured in this exhibition are authorized by 45 esteemed global institutions, including the Louvre, the Uffizi Galleries and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
