THE SZMG (Shenzhen Media Group) International Communication Center was officially established yesterday, with aims to better present the stories of Shenzhen to a global audience.

During the inauguration ceremony, which was held at the Media Finance Center in Futian District, it was announced that the center will bolster its international communication capabilities and leverage the extensive content channels of SZMG to facilitate a deeper understanding of China and its modernization efforts through the lens of Shenzhen’s narratives.

Additionally, the center aspires to evolve into a multifaceted platform integrating news reporting, international exchanges and communication, diverse cooperation and talent cultivation.

Launched by SZMG and guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, the center has already forged partnerships with over 1,000 media outlets, universities, think tanks and organizations at home and abroad, according to information released at the inauguration ceremony.

Liu Ying, director of the Cooperative Research Department of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China, said that Shenzhen serves as a window through which China’s remarkable modernization efforts can be presented.

This is the latest move by a local media group to promote international communication. On June 10, Shenzhen News Group Global Communication Center was launched at an event marking the trial operation of EyeShenzhen nine-language information portal.
