A TOTAL of 542 students and teachers from Shenzhen and Hong Kong embarked on a 13-day research and study journey, taking a special train departing from Shenzhen East Railway Station on Sunday afternoon.

The expedition will take the students to destinations including Yichang, Xi’an, Chengdu, Guiyang and Kaili before returning to Shenzhen. Throughout the journey, they will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the rapid development of the motherland and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes of mountains and rivers along the route. They will also explore famous local scenic spots, historical landmarks and cultural sites in these cities.

Organized by the Hong Kong Commerce and Industry Associations, the event aims to help young people from Shenzhen and Hong Kong learn about the great achievements accomplished through China’s reform, opening up and modernization efforts. It is also designed to acquaint them with the rich and splendid history and culture of the Chinese nation, so as to foster a deep sense of national pride, cultivate a collective awareness of social responsibility, and enhance their practical capabilities.
