Win-win-win situation
    2023-07-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A staffer collects honey from a beehive on the rooftop of the Vanke Center in Dameisha in Yantian District on Tuesday, when Vanke Foundation organized an Open Day event. On the day, citizens were invited to visit the Meisha Carbon-neutral Community. The center is considered one of the most sustainable mixed-use buildings in the world, obtaining LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) Platinum certification in 2011. Outfitted with a solar energy system, the roof is not only a shelter for birds and insects, but a farmland and an apiary.  Courtesy of Vanke Foundation
