A view of Chengzaishan Tunnel. Work on the longest tunnel in the renovation project of Shenshan West Expressway was completed recently. The 2,346-meter-long Chengzaishan Tunnel in Chishi Township, Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone is a key project of the expressway renovation. The renovation project, running 146 kilometers, is the largest and longest expressway renovation project in Guangdong with the biggest investment involved. The expressway is scheduled to open to traffic in 2024, cutting the travel time between downtown Shenzhen and Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone to 90 minutes.
