City emerges as popular destination for graduation trips
    2023-08-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN has recently witnessed a surge in graduates flocking to the city, making it a highly sought-after destination for graduation trips, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

Among those graduates is Lin Yang, hailing from Fuyang, Anhui Province, who embarked on a summer adventure to Shenzhen with his friends after receiving his college acceptance letter. Their city exploration itinerary includes leisurely strolls along Shenzhen Bay, a visit to the Splendid China theme park, and taking a ride on the OH Bay Ferris wheel in Bao’an District.

In addition to Shenzhen’s breathtaking natural beauty, the city’s industrial heritage has also captivated many visitors.

Yang Jiyu from Heilongjiang Province was particularly impressed by the city’s industrial foundation during his visit to the Shenzhen Industrial Museum where he learned about the city’s industrial roots and historical evolution, and he has also experienced interactive marvels like the creation of 3D virtual images.

“Through this trip, I discovered that Shenzhen is creating history, not just for itself, but also for the world,” Yang said. The city’s remarkable progress inspired him to consider seeking job opportunities in Shenzhen in the future.

Industrial tourism has emerged as a popular theme for graduation travel, providing tourists with a more direct and immersive experience of Shenzhen’s unique allure, according to a representative from a tourism platform.

This year, many graduates have chosen first-tier cities like Shenzhen and Shanghai as their graduation travel destinations, with a dual purpose of exploring the cities and preparing for their future career endeavors, the representative said.

As the graduation season unfolds, many scenic spots in Shenzhen have introduced preferential measures to entice graduates. High school graduates can enjoy exclusive discounts on selected scenic spots and cruise tickets, according to the News report.
