Jerry Deng, G10, RDF International School Nowadays, many young people lead colorful and interesting lives, while older individuals often spend their time taking care of family or grandchildren, which may seem boring. In my opinion, young people generally enjoy life more than older people do. First and foremost, young people are generally less burdened by responsibilities compared to older individuals. Most young people are either studying or working without the pressures of supporting a family, which allows them the freedom to try new things and take risks. Additionally, young people are more focused on building their careers and often prioritize experiences over material possessions such as houses, cars, or insurance. Moreover, young people tend to have more energy and enthusiasm compared with the elders. They actively participate in high-intensity sports or spend time socializing, which allows them to explore and discover new interests. Conversely, the elderly may choose to stay at home more frequently due to health-related problems. While they might engage in simple physical activities like playing cards, they are generally limited in their ability to fully immerse themselves in new experiences. Furthermore, the development of science and technology has provided young people with a more convenient and time-efficient lifestyle. Many young people utilize mobile phones for various purposes such as online shopping, ordering food, or accessing services, enabling them to save time and focus on earning money or enjoying their leisure time. In contrast, older individuals may not be as familiar with social media apps and instant payment services, which can limit their efficiency in daily life. However, it is worth noting that older people have already experienced the ups and downs of life and are now able to enjoy the tranquility and peace that comes with age. In comparison, some young people prefer to use their hard-earned money on experiences and entertainment. In conclusion, people tend to have a more cheerful and enjoyable life during their youth. As they age and become occupied with various family responsibilities and pressures, they may prioritize stability over novelty. It is essential that all individuals maintain a positive attitude and cherish every day, regardless of their age. Each stage of life brings its own unique experiences and opportunities for happiness. |
