Yukiko Isomura

Japanese composer and pianist Yukiko Isomura will give a concert featuring pieces composed by herself and Joe Hisaishi. She often plays the piano in collaboration with Japanese and Chinese folk instrumentalists.

Dance, piano

Rhythmic music reverberates and seven dancers move with desperation in “Dance Me to the End of Night,” to be presented by Hong Kong MW Dance Theater on Saturday. The dance show is the ultimate gesture of youthful rebellion. Meanwhile, young pianist Zhang Yue will play pieces by Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert and others Sunday.

Organ music

Shen Fanxiu, professor of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing known for her pioneering effort in promoting organ music in China, will perform a concert Saturday in collaboration with pipa player Dong Xiaolin and saxophone player Li Pei.

Concerts

Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will collaborate with cellist Wang Jian, pianist Zuo Zhang, oboist Huang Zheng and violinist Lin Ruifeng for a classical music concert tonight. Meanwhile, a Russian children’s choir will sing classic tunes tomorrow night. Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble will present traditional Chinese music Friday and young pianist Animenz, who is known for his anime piano adaptation, will present anime music Sunday.
