Express parcel center opened at SZ airport

SHENZHEN Bao’an International Airport, in partnership with YunExpress, a leading cross-border business-to-consumer logistics service provider in China, inaugurated the express parcel delivery center Sunday to further improve the airport’s logistics capabilities.

Under the partnership, cargo flights between Shenzhen and Paris will be increased from three to six flights per week, with parcels from Shenzhen making it to Paris in three days.

The center is located in the airport’s cargo yard section, which is dedicated to e-commerce trade. Compared to traditional operations, the center promises to increase cargo turnover efficiency by two to three days and boost the airport’s capacity to handle an additional 200,000 tons of parcels and cross-border e-commerce products annually.

YunExpress recently put its second B777F widebody cargo jet in service in Shenzhen, in collaboration with Central Airlines. It has doubled their outbound parcel handling capacity to 600 tons per week, making it the busiest cross-border e-commerce cargo route departing from Shenzhen.

With YunExpress offering ground services at the Paris airport, parcels can now undergo unloading, loading and customs clearance within six hours upon arrival. The last-mile delivery is managed by the company’s local partners, ensuring that the entire process — from parcel collection to final delivery to French customers — is completed within just three days. The streamlined approach enhances the logistics experience for both Chinese sellers and their French customers.

So far this year, the Shenzhen airport has opened and intensified 10 international cargo routes including seven designated for e-commerce to countries and cities such as France, Liege in Belgium, London in the U.K., Davao in the Philippines, Tel Aviv in Israel and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The airport’s cargo network now covers 35 cities in 23 countries and regions in five continents.

Parcels from Shenzhen can be delivered to domestic customers in one day, reach major Asian cities in two days and connect to other major cities worldwide in three days, the airport authority said.
