Trains halted due to typhoon

THE Shenzhen railway authority has announced that due to Typhoon Haikui, over 300 trains traveling on the Hangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail line to destinations including Chaoshan, Meizhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Shanghai will be temporarily suspended starting from 4 p.m. yesterday.

Haikui, the 11th typhoon of this year, is expected to make landfall along the coastal region between Guangdong and Fujian this afternoon.

As per the announcement, trains departing from Shenzhen North Railway Station, Futian Railway Station and Pingshan Station to Meizhou in Guangdong, as well as to Xiamen and Fuzhou in Fujian Province will be halted starting from 4 p.m. yesterday. Additionally, trains to Chaoshan, Meizhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Shanghai will be halted today.

Train services will gradually resume tomorrow.
