Chinese and Myanmar police detain 269 in telecom fraud crackdown

Suspects involved in Myanmar-based telecom frauds are repatriated to China in this photo released yesterday. More than 200 suspects involved in Myanmar-based cyber scams have been detained by police in one of the largest joint crackdowns between China and the Southeast Asian country, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security announced yesterday. The operation brought down 11 telecom fraud hubs in northern Myanmar and apprehended 269 suspects, including 186 Chinese nationals who have been repatriated.
