A TOTAL of 23 elite technicians from Shenzhen will represent Guangdong Province in the second National Vocational Skills Competition to be held in Tianjin from Sept. 16 to 19.

They will compete for medals in 21 events including graphic design, 3D digital games and floral arrangement, the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said yesterday.

The National Vocational Skills Competition is the largest, highest-level and most influential national skills contest in China. It has a total of 109 events, including 62 events for the WorldSkills Competition. The winners of the 62 events will represent China at the 47th WorldSkills Competition, scheduled to be held in Lyon, France in 2024.

The contestants, who mainly come from the Shenzhen Institute of Technology and Shenzhen Polytechnic, will participate in 12 world skills events and eight national skills events.

At the first National Vocational Skills Competition in Guangzhou in 2020, Shenzhen’s students clinched five gold medals in graphic design, 3D digital games, industrial design, cloud computing and photo-electricity technology.

Chen Xinyuan and Luo Kai, who secured gold medals at the national competition, represented China at the special edition of the 2022 WorldSkills Competition in South Korea and won gold medals in cloud computing and 3D digital games.
