A TOTAL of 1,580 new energy vehicles (NEVs) manufactured in China were recently loaded at Xiaomo International Logistics Port in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone for shipment to Thailand.

The vessel will reach Thailand in seven days, marking a new record for NEV exports since the port’s commencement of operations. To date, a total of 6,130 vehicles have been exported from the Xiaomo port.

Data showed that China’s NEV sales reached 4.526 million units between January and July, with overseas sales surpassing 630,000 units, making significant strides in conquering international markets.

“At present, the port has established business channels with car manufacturers in Wuhan, Fuzhou and Changsha for NEV exports. With the operation of the BYD Automobile Industrial Park in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, the port’s vehicle business will be more stable and exhibit steady growth,” Guo Yao, chairman of the Xiaomo Port Operation Co. Ltd., said. “We are considering the operation of regular liners for vehicle exports.”

Data from BYD showed that it sold 253,000 vehicles in June alone, marking an impressive growth of 88.2% year on year. In the first half of this year, BYD exported over 74,000 units of passenger NEVs. The company has successfully introduced its passenger car lineup to key markets including Japan, Germany, Thailand, Australia and Brazil. Notably, BYD Yuan Plus (also known as BYD ATTO 3) has made a significant impact, becoming the best-selling NEV in Thailand, Israel and Singapore for several consecutive months.
