Quay cranes are seen at Dachan Bay Port in western Shenzhen. The port welcomed an addition to its operational capacity Saturday with the arrival of three quay cranes and three gantry cranes, all featuring the most advanced technology in China. The three quay cranes stand out as China’s largest, with an impressive 73-meter forward reach and the capability to handle the world’s largest container ships weighing up to 200,000 tons. Moreover, the adoption of electric gantry cranes further underscores the port’s commitment to eco-friendly and low-carbon operations, solidifying its position as the world’s first container terminal in utilizing such technology.
