Representatives from Hainan Airlines and Milan Malpensa Airport attend the inauguration ceremony for a new direct flight route between Shenzhen and Milan at the Malpensa airport in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday. The new service, operated by Hainan Airlines, makes three round trips a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is the second regular passenger route between Shenzhen and Italy opened this year, following a direct flight route to Rome launched in May. In the first eight months of this year, the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport handled 33.88 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 130%, ranking second in the country.
