SHENZHEN Metro is set to extend its operating hours to midnight on six specific days during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.

The extended service days will fall on tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday, as well as Sunday, Oct. 5, and Oct. 6.

The operator expects an increase in ridership tomorrow, the last working day before the Mid-Autumn Festival. Ten Metro lines, namely lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14, will provide half-way final train service by extending operating hours by 30-60 minutes.

For late-night travelers arriving in Shenzhen, there will be additional convenience. The final trains on lines 4, 5 and 6, which connect with Shenzhen North Railway Station, and Line 11, which connects with Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, will depart from their terminals no earlier than midnight Monday, Tuesday and Oct. 4, according to Shenzhen Metro Group.

Additionally, during the holiday period from Friday to Oct. 6, nonlocally registered vehicles will be allowed to run on the city’s roads without time restrictions, as announced by Shenzhen traffic police. The measure is intended to facilitate smoother travel for visitors during the holidays.
