Dear editor, AS an expatriate living in China, I have come to appreciate the Chinese culture, cuisine, and traditions very much. Living in Shenzhen has specially opened my eyes to the diverse and cosmopolitan nature of the Chinese social and cultural landscape. However, while I follow the news in Shenzhen Daily closely, I sometimes find that many cross-cultural events that I would have liked to attend weren’t posted until after their occurrence. For example, when I read that during the Mid-Autumn Festival, there were several activities organized for expatriates living in Shenzhen, I was disappointed to not have been able to attend as those were exactly the kind of cultural immersion experiences that I was looking for. I think although it is great that such events are being held and reported on, it would be even better if everyone who wanted to attend could have had the chance to do so. So, after putting some thought to it, I came up with the idea that perhaps newsrooms in Shenzhen could dedicate a column or section in newspapers or on WeChat Public Accounts for social and cultural organizations to advertise their events.
