A humanoid robot innovation center has been established in Beijing to accelerate the research and commercialization of humanoid robot technologies. Jointly built by the firms that make general-use robots, core components and robot operating and control systems, the center will serve as a platform for both hardware software research and development, trying to tackle key challenges faced by the industry.

报道中的humanoid robot就是“人形机器人”，human是“人类”，-oid后缀表示“类似…的”，例如steroid (类固醇)，asteroid (小行星)。
