The first train for Metro Line 13 has been delivered in Shenzhen recently, marking a significant milestone in the line’s construction and the commencement of its Phase I system testing. Line 13’s initial phase stretches from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint Station to Shangwu Station, spanning a distance of 22.45 kilometers. Once operational, Line 13 Phase I will have 16 stations, including 12 transfer stations. The line is a fully automated driverless line, featuring eight-carriage trains capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. The transport link will connect prominent locations such as Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park, and Liuxiandong Headquarters Base in Nanshan District to the Shiyan area in Bao’an District, playing a pivotal role as a north-south backbone line serving the western and central areas of Shenzhen.
